Shopping!

This summer has been so fun because there are so many wives here to hang out with! I already knew all of the tech wives but we had no idea that there were going to be so many salesman wives too! We had a great day shopping at a mall down in Atlanta.

Woe is me

So I had a "woe is me" day today (yesterday now I guess). That's what I like to call them and I know everyone can relate to these days. It's a day when nothing in particular goes wrong, but you're just feeling down on yourself. I don't have these days all that often, but when I do, the only thing that helps snap me out of it is my husband. Today I realized how absolutely lucky I am just because he is who he is and he's mine forever.
Sorry, I just got done watching "Dear John" (of course I cried) so that should explain my gushy post!

Pillows

I love the fabric of these pillows! The purple fabric is thanks to McKenzie. For my birthday she got me a bunch of different remnants of fabric because she knew how much I love making the fabric flowers. Well, the purple fabric was way too heavy for flowers and too gorgeous to make flowers out of just to sell, so while twiddling my thumbs yesterday, I had the idea to make pillows out of them! I LOVE them! It just makes me want to have a house. I also had a TON of the yellow-leaf fabric thanks to a super-duper sale at Hancock forever ago. After making about 14 flowers out of the fabric, I still had about a yard left so I decided to make pillows with that fabric too! I love the colors together and it was fun and easy!

Burp Rag

Stephanie asked me to sew this cute ribbon on her burp rags to make them cuter than the plain white. They turned out really cute and it was SO easy to do! I just ironed the ribbon in half and pinned it onto the rag and sewed!

New Flowers

The best thing about being out here in Georgia is that I finally have the time to do the little things I never had time to do before! It was definitely a welcome change from working full time and going to school full time! Well I've been wanting to learn how to make this new type of flower for a couple of months now and, again because my mom let me bring her sewing machine out here, I was able to make them! They are my favorite type because they look a lot more finished and professional looking! Here are some of the other ones that I've made. They're the same style that I've been making in the past except instead of putting a button in the middle, I sewed fabric in the middle. I really like the fabric middle and I think it definitely makes them look more unique than all the other flowers out there. And McKenzie, I apologize ahead of time for the crappy pictures! I guess you'll just need to make a trip out here to visit so you can take amazing pictures of all my flowers and craft projects!

Buttons

I love buttons! I found a grab bag of miscellaneous buttons at Michaels and I was kind of nervous because I couldn't tell if there were any cute ones. Well, I used my 40% off coupon like the thrifty shopper I am and got a bag of over 300 buttons for about $2.50! I separated out the bag and found a TON of really, really cute ones! Here's a couple of my favorite buttons!

My Fabric Zoo

I found this pattern at Hobby Lobby and fell in love with it! Devin let me go back and get it because I couldn't stop thinking about it! I've made a couple of the giraffes and they've turned out so cute! They're not too hard to make, they're just very time consuming. My mom let me bring out her sewing machine to Georgia and it's definitely saved my sanity! I also started making a new type of fabric flower which will make its debut on my blog here in the next couple of days!
