Summer Birthdays

Here are two of the birthday cakes I've made for people over the summer (I used the same batch of fondant, that's why they look so similar)

Welcome to McDonough

These are our new apartments in McDonough, Georgia.

Here is the pool! It looks bigger in the picture than it actually is, but you get the idea!

The gym is a lot nicer than the gym in Cartersville, but it's always a gamble whether the TV or the machine is going to work. At least the AC works!

These were taken on a walk at a local park.

Crazy bugs!
This was a cool dragonfly looking bug with black and white wings. They were everywhere!

This was a crazy spider web that looked like a giant cacoon! Luckily there were no spiders in sight!

We miss our hot dog

Happy 4th of July

This is one of the best 4th of July holidays I've ever had. I was really sad that I missed Stadium of Fire with Carrie Underwood this year, but a day away in South Carolina helped make up for it! Stephanie's (Dane's, Devin's step-brother, wife) aunt lives in South Carolina in a beautiful lake front home. Since we are only 2 hours away, we were invited to spend the holiday there. The 4th has always been such a family holiday, so being away from home was hard, but spending it with Stephanie's family reminded us of home. It was SO fun to just relax by the amazing pool, eat tons of food, hang out at the lake, play in the pool some more, and blow stuff up. Unlike Georgia and Utah, South Carolina has not yet outlawed fireworks. We found this out very quickly because the first thing you see when you cross the border are HUGE firework mega stores! We had to make a stop. Our $30 firework budget quickly turned into $50 so I had to drag Devin, Dane, and Jeremy out of the store before our wallet took a bigger hit!

Here is the front of Aunt Jean's beautiful home and her pool.

Thanks Aunt Jean and we are excited to come visit again before we go back to Utah!

BUGS in South Carolina

Okay, really? Now South Carolina is just inventing bugs! What in the freak kind of bug is this?! Someone enlighten me!

Booth Western Art Museum

Statue at the entrance

Last Thursday some of us went to the Booth Western Art Museum because the first Thursday of the month admission is free after 4! It was so fun and the paintings and sculptures were amazing! I've put off posting anything about it because I have SO many pictures that I can't even begin to figure out which ones to post! I was amazed that there was such a quality art museum in the little town of Cartersville! My pictures don't do the paintings any justice but hopefully you can tell how beautiful the artwork is!

This was made out of different aluminum metal objects

Brown Paper bags

Pencil Drawing

My FAvorite...This was done with Charcoal!

Un-Helpful Security Guard

When we went to the Booth Western Museum we saw this security guard and I kept wondering how he was staying so still! We asked him questions and he didn't answer. He was like a guard at the Buckingham Palace! It wasn't until later that we realized that he was a statue! Ok, so I'm kidding about asking him questions and stuff, I'm not THAT dumb, but he did look so real that it was kind of eerie. Even after we told Eve that he was fake she didn't know what we were talking about because she thought he was real!
