Booth Western Art Museum
Statue at the entrance
Last Thursday some of us went to the Booth Western Art Museum because the first Thursday of the month admission is free after 4! It was so fun and the paintings and sculptures were amazing! I've put off posting anything about it because I have SO many pictures that I can't even begin to figure out which ones to post! I was amazed that there was such a quality art museum in the little town of Cartersville! My pictures don't do the paintings any justice but hopefully you can tell how beautiful the artwork is!
This was made out of different aluminum metal objects
Brown Paper bags
Pencil Drawing
My FAvorite...This was done with Charcoal!
Un-Helpful Security Guard
When we went to the Booth Western Museum we saw this security guard and I kept wondering how he was staying so still! We asked him questions and he didn't answer. He was like a guard at the Buckingham Palace! It wasn't until later that we realized that he was a statue! Ok, so I'm kidding about asking him questions and stuff, I'm not THAT dumb, but he did look so real that it was kind of eerie. Even after we told Eve that he was fake she didn't know what we were talking about because she thought he was real!
World of Coca Cola
Yesterday we went down to Atlanta to the World of Coca Cola and it was pretty fun. A lot of money, but fun. They had different videos, memorabilia, and even a mini bottling factory behind Plexiglas. The best and worst part of the tour in my opinion was the tasting room. There were over 60 different flavors of coke product from all over the world and we were allowed to taste all of them! I got through most of South America and Africa's drinks and about made myself sick in the Europe ones. The WORST taste I have probably ever tasted was called Beverly. Apparently it is popular in Italy as a pallet cleansing drink. Well, it definitely cleansed my pallet because everything after that drink tasted so good!

Downtown Cartersville
River Walk
This is a public park just a couple of miles from our apartments! It is so pretty and has a well kept path all of the way around the park. We walked for about an hour, but the path is over 5 miles long! The geese were hilarious and as we were leaving, a bunch of kids showed up with bread and they went crazy! Can you believe how beautiful it is!

Birthday Wishes
Yesterday was one of the salesmen wive's (Jenny) birthday so we celebrated in style! A couple of the girls got season passes to Six Flags too so that's where we spent the majority of the day. It was SO fun but unfortunately none of us brought our cameras into the park because we didn't want to have to figure out what to do with them while we went on the rides. I found my new favorite...the Superman. Anyways, later that night we went over to Jenny's house for cake. Devin was a trooper. He walked in the door from working all day and he still came with me so that we get to know the salesmen and their wives better. It was so fun! Here's the cake I made. I haven't worked with icing in SO long because all of the cakes I've made recently have been out of fondant. It was kind of frustrating because fondant looks so much more finished than butter cream, but it made me realize that I need to keep up on decorating with butter cream. It's hard because now that I'm comfortable with fondant, I'd so much rather decorate a cake with that than butter cream, but butter cream tastes so much better. My next cake project is going to be practicing making a topsy turvy (aka mad hatter) cake for Kylie's wedding! I'm nervous but excited that I have the time to "broaden my horizons."
